About ATP Quest

ATP Quest is spaced-repetition study for the MCAT: 1,951 original questions across 50 zones, 98 drawn figures, and a scheduler that decides what you should see today.

How the questions are made

Every question, explanation and memory hook was written for ATP Quest. None is copied from official AAMC materials, commercial prep courses or shared flashcard decks, and the bank is checked by script for passages that overlap known sources. Questions are tagged to the AAMC’s own content categories, so what you drill maps onto the outline the exam is written from.

Structures are drawn from coordinates checked against PubChem, the US government’s public chemistry database; stereochemistry is verified by software, not by eye. Figures are drawn in code and audited for legibility on phones and for colour pairs that merge under common forms of colour blindness.

How the scheduler works

Each card has a memory model (the FSRS-4.5 algorithm: difficulty, stability and the probability you still remember it). Answer a card and the scheduler predicts when your chance of recalling it will fall to 92 %, then brings it back just before. How quickly you answer tells it how solid the memory is, so you never have to grade yourself. Miss a card and it comes back later in the same session, then daily until it sticks. Set your test date and no review is ever scheduled after it.

Why the biology

ATP is the energy currency of the cell; here it is the currency of study. You earn it for correct answers and spend it building a cell whose organelles change how studying pays. It is a small joke with a serious point: the exam rewards the learner who keeps the whole system running, not the one who crams one organelle.
